Most likely, you hold the idea that if you are to be healthy you have to avoid all fat, carbohydrates and alcohol. This is not true at all, as if you just jump into dieting and cut on everything at once, it is more likely that you will give up along the way and you end up getting to your old habits. If you eat something sugary, you will feel great for the first hour, but as the body works to bring down the sugar, you will feel hungry and crave more junk food much quicker. You can swap out the sugary cereal for a bowl of fruit and yogurt, and you will still get the sweetness that you want.
If you intend to spend a lot of time out and about, ensure that you pack snacks with you so as to keep your energy levels boosted up all through the day. Snacks keep you satisfied to some level that when you get to 6 pm, you will not be starving to order an extra large pizza all for yourself.
Swap the take out for home-cooked meals. There are plenty of easy recipes online that you can make for your family without the fat and the grease. By preparing food right from the beginning, you get to control the ingredients that you feed yourself and your family.
Water is the most vital for survival. It is important that you try drinking water regularly throughout the day to prevent headaches and keep your body running smoothly. Also, when you experience hunger pangs, drink some water and wait for 10 minutes; if the hunger persists eat, if not then you were just thirsty and needed some hydration.
